Riverside, Calif. – Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) announces legendary skateboarder, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Tony Hawk will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2026 General Assembly on June 18, 2026 at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula.
This year’s theme, “Leading with Momentum,” highlights the everyday leadership demonstrated by public service professionals across western Riverside County. Hawk’s story of innovation, resilience, and community impact aligns perfectly with the work of the region’s cities, districts, and partner agencies.
“Public service requires forward thinking, creativity, and innovation, those qualities Tony Hawk embodies,” said Brenda Dennstedt, WRCOG Executive Committee Chair. “His message reminds us that leadership doesn’t come from watching from the sidelines, but from taking action that strengthens the communities we serve.”
The General Assembly brings together hundreds of elected officials, city staff, and regional leaders each year for a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and shared progress.
Sponsorship opportunities for the 2026 event are now available at www.wrcog.us/GAsponsor. Individual tickets will go on sale in March 1 at www.wrcog.us.
